We leave Huaraz in private transportation to Honcopampa, where we begin the 6-7 hour hike towards Lake Aquilpo, where we will camp. The path crosses through a beautiful quenual forest.
We will leave Lake Aquilpo and begin our ascent to Urus Pass (5000 m). We will have ample views of Vallunaraju, Ocshapalca, Ranrapalca, Ishinca, Palcaraj, Tocllaraju, and Urus. We then descend to the Ishinca camp, where we will set up camp next the the Ishinca refuge. About an 8-9 hour hike.
Today we descend Ishinca valley to reach the village of Collon, where our transportation awaits us to return to Huaraz.
