Itinerary
DAY 01: HUARAZ (3100 M) - CASHAPAMPA - LLAMACORRAL

We leave Huaraz at 7:30am in private transportation heading north, passing though the Callejon de Huaylas. We will pass by traditional towns such as Carhuaz and Yungay, arriving finally in Caraz. From here we will head towards the base camp of Cashapampa (2900m). In Cashapampa our donkeys and rivers will await us to begin the trek towards Llamacorral (3760m). 5 hour hike. Here we will eat dinner and camp.

DAY 02:LLAMACORRAL - TAULLIPAMPA

After breakfast we will head out at 8am to begin our second day. We will pass by Ichic Cocha (small lake) and Hatun cocha (big lake). Here we have impressive views of Alpamayo, Artesonraju, and Aguja mountains. We head downhill until we arrive at Taullipampa (4250m), where we will camp for our second night.

DAY 03: TAULLIPAMPA - CACHINAPAMPA

At 8am after breakfast we will head out on our third day of trekking, gradualy ascending towards Punta Union pass (4750m), from where we have great views of the mountains such as Taulliraju, Garcilazo Pyramid, and Paria, along with turquois lakes, blue skies, and fresh air. After a short rest we walk 3 ½ hours towards our final campsite in Cachinapampa (3800m).

DAY 04: CACHINAPAMPA - VAQUERIA - HUARAZ

After our last breakfast in camp we head out at 8am for a 2-3 hour hike towards Vaqueria. Our private transportation awaits is here. We will head towards Huaraz, passing Portachualo pass (4780m). This is a great lookout and we will pause here to take in the views of Huascaran, Pisco, and Huandoy mountains. The pass is a great point to observe the famous Llanganuco lakes with their turquoise colors. From here we continue down to Yurac Coral, where we will have lunch and eventually make our way back to Huaraz.
